At last Barclays Premier Life passengers might be happy

By complete accident, here at GoMo Towers we were browsing through old Android apps that we’d once installed and noticed that Airport Angel had recently been updated [May 18th 2015]. Our original story about the Airport Angel service being available free with Barclays Premier Life accounts first ran in 2008 (See here). Ever since, GoMo News has been inundated with requests for help. The Angel service is currently being offered by the CPP Group and even though we did manage to speak to Joanne Gibbons, head of customer propositions with CPP, we still couldn’t answer all readers questions. Until now.

That’s because version 2.0 of the Airport Angel app possess an ‘open’ architecture as we were orignally promised back in 2014 (See here).

In a nutshell, the new ‘open’ style app means that anyone can browse the app’s facilities without having to have signed into the app with a valid ID.

Previously, that meant that GoMo News couldn’t have told you which lounges were available to Airport Angel customers. Now we can.

If, for example, you’re at London Gatwick Airport’s North Terminal, you can apparently attempt to utilise the ‘Aspire’ lounge.

The only thing you can’t do without a valid Airport Angel ID is attempt to book a lounge. So those GoMo News readers who have such questions can now go to the very comprehensive ‘Contact Us’ page in the app to get such help.

Even better news is that the phone number we originally published for Airport Angel inquiries was correct – +44 161 606 0731 and CPP even points out that calls to the alternative number, 0330123 9377, are charged at normal rates – even for mobile phones.

On the Google Play page for Airport Angel here, CPP reveals that besides some standard bug fixes, membership usage refresh within app and barcodes for entry into Air Canada lounges are now supported.

So, hopefully, GoMo News will be able to point readers who contact us with their questions in the right direction in future.
